| OVERWHELMED We as believers can at times be overwhelmed with afflictions and troubles. David a man after God's heart said, My heart is sore pained within me and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me and horror hath overwhelmed my in. (Psalms 55:4-5) When we search the Bible we find that no one spoke of trusting God more than David did. No one preached more on seeking the Lord for strength in time of need. David said yea tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for God is with me. Yet there fell on David a series of deep painful distresses that shook his faith to the point of hopelessness and he cried all men are liars in (Psalms 116:11) speaking out of overwhelming pain and sorrow. He was saying all the words of comfort and hope I have heard have not come to pass. It all seems like a lie. David was going through an all out attack on his faith. He was not saying God was a liar but all the human voices coming at him on all sides. He was in a place of despair. He was looking for a way to escape. That I had the wings like a dove, I would fly away from all this despair and find a place of rest. Have you ever been there or are you there now? What do I do? Do what David did in (Psalms 55:16-18) as for me, I will call upon God and the Lord shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon will I pray and cry aloud and he shall hear my voice (and deliver) my soul in peace from the battle that was against me for there were many with me. (God and all his Angels) and if God be for you who can stand against you? NO ONE! Go to war through prayer. Get in the Lords presence, cry out to GOD and ask for his peace and deliverance from all your troubles. Pray God's promises back to him and stand steadfast on them. Remember all who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Do you Believe? If we can pray for your or with you - just let us know. |
